EVERYONE IS A TEACHER! “By now you should be teachers!”- Hebrews 5:12 To evaluate the spiritual retention of these new believers, we are giving them the opportunity to teach. Elvie, being the BLC principal and Faith Fellowship Church’s Christian Education Director, has designed a calendar of all seven of the Sunday School classes (all grades) as well as the Wednesday evening prayer meeting Bible messages. For each of these sessions she has chosen a different new believer to speak. A goal in the discipleship program is to one day teach in church. Of the 300 in our Laverna church plant, 50 will be teaching at least once in March/April. They are also assigned to evaluate the other speakers. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to empower and direct these new believers as they take this step of faith and teach others the golden truths from the Word of God.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A FILIPINO IF...

THE FATHER’S HOUSE“The Nations are upset!” “Pastor Paul, the nations of the world, as well as UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Fund), are angry at the Philippines for putting child prisoners (aged 8-18) in jail with adult criminals, who often abuse them! We’ve got to do something about it!” After CNN did a special on this problem that has existed for 4 decades, a band of concerned Christians here in Davao incorporated the “Father’s House Facility for Children in Conflict with the Law” to house 500 child prisoners. The Philippine government this week tried to pass a law to keep children out of the jails by making it illegal to arrest minors. But since that would put problem children out on the streets to terrorize citizens, it would be an impossible law to execute. Kids will still get arrested. We are therefore speeding up the construction of the “Father’s House” here in Davao to provide a place to put some of the 20,000 child prisoners in the Philippines. I (Paul) was unanimously elected as CEO for this work, and Elvie is the treasurer. The chairman of the board is Davao City’s Administrator and assistant to the mayor. A local businessman donated Land for this purpose. Please pray for speedy construction so it can be occupied by June.

DO YOU HAVE A SPING PROJECT?THESE ARE NEEDS THAT WE HAVE TO SUPPLY FOR OUR 2006 BLC CONSTRUCTION:
|
||||
GROWING FISH, FOOD & FAMILIES“WHOA! A HUNDRED NEW FISH!” At the base of our BLC flagpole was a tiled fishpond with 50 assorted
fish and a few turtles. That was until last Sunday when the fish had
babies. “Look!” screamed a nursery schooler “Baby fishies!” Sure enough,
hundreds of squirmy little baby fish clouded the water. While the
fish increase in their pond on BLC’s bottom floor, our vegetable garden
and chickens are growing on the roof. Peppers, peanuts, cabbage &
carrots are some of the crops that absorb sun and rain up there, and
decrease the cost of our huge food budget which has to feed 400 BLC
mouths. |
