Elvie challenges 276 BLC children on United Nations Day to bring the Gospel to the ends of the earth. |
YOUR LETTERSDear Pastor Paul, Is there a way that my children and I could sponsor two of the children? We would love to be able to write them letters and send small tokens also. I have two boys - age 11 and 8, who love sports - basketball, football, baseball, etc. If it would be appropriate I would like for them to be able to maintain contact with two boys over there who are about their same age. Please let me know how we could go about getting involved and helping you in your work for the Lord.
Dear Pastor Paul, Thank you for letting us partner with you in the mission to bring God's love into the world. I am excited about this opportunity and pray that God will work through us to bring hope to the children and their families. I am grateful to you - as you have left your homeland in a sacrifice of service to God, I am sure that He will strengthen you and bless you in many ways. You and your mission will remain in our prayers - I hope that you will continue to let us know how we can help. My sons names are Alec (age 11 - 5th grade), and Evan (age 8 - 2nd grade). You can mail letters to them. We will send our sponsorship money right away and look forward to interacting with the two boys.
Dear Pastor Paul, I received the pictures that Elvie has sent and thank you for putting a face to our sponsored children. My son asks me every time if I had already sent our monthly pledge! He reminds me and he's happy to see the face of his sponsored boy! Their pictures are displayed on our refrigerator. Again, thank you for the work that you do and I pray that God will continue to bless your ministry. I'm so happy to be a part of it. Below is a letter for CM: DEAR CM,
Rev. Paul & Elvie Barner, I pray that this letter finds you well. I am writing you to see if we can provide some additional support to your ministry in the Philippines. I know that our church has provided monetary support in the past. Specifically, I would like to know if you would be interested in receiving our children's curriculum after we have used it. It is Group’s hands-on curriculum and is for toddlers through 4th grade. However we use it for kids up to 6th grade. We have found the curriculum to be valuable and have no need for the workbooks once we have completed the quarter. Additionally, I have been teaching our children about tithing and would like to see if there is a child sponsorship program that we may be able to specifically support. I am hoping to better connect their giving to concrete and tangible results. Any information that you can provide regarding the aforementioned, is much appreciated.

A CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM"Mommy, you forgot something!" Our little 3-yr old Abigail was in the car with Elvie, leaving the parking lot of the store. To avoid car theft and terrorist explosions, all drivers receive a parking pass after their vehicles are searched. As Elvie was returning the parking pass, Abby handed her mommy a Gospel tract, always in ample supple next to the emergency brake. "Sir, my daughter says she wants you to have this!" Suddenly very interested in this gift from a 3-yr old, the guard started intently reading between car searches. Little evangelist! If she is passing out tracts at 3, what will she be doing to proclaim the Gospel at thirty? |
