150 BLC PUPILS IN OUR FOURTH FOUNDATION DAY PARADE

BLOSSOMING BABY BELIEVERS

"And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it, not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe." -1 Thessalonians 2:13

"Pastor Paul, I feel God wants me to send ten ladies to the annual Woman's Conference in  Davao. Here is $35!" When we received this email from an African American, we were  overjoyed! Nearly 30 ladies from our young church attended, making ours the largest  delegation from any church. The women, mostly poor new believers, learned how to have  their daily devotions, how to raise their children in God's love, and even how to sew  stuffed animals!  Ten of our church's new believers, ages 13 to 60, were baptized this month in the  Pacific ocean, bringing the year's total to over 20. Each gave testimony to how God  showed them the plan of salvation through the cell groups, our school Bible studies, and  home cell groups. On Foundation Day we had a special treat at the school, as the children performed  native dances to the tunes of Christian choruses. Even a local restaurant mascot joined  in! John, our short-term missionary, later passed out free Bibles to the poor families in  their own language of Cebuano.

EVANGELIZE THE CHILDREN

"Wow, I didn't know that my very name was a witnessing tool!" We cancelled classes for  one day as a CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) team came to our BLC campus. Their purpose  was to empower our teachers and staff in how to lead children to a saving knowledge of  Jesus Christ.  The two ladies explained that we must: 1-establish who God is; 2-Show him his need of  salvation; 3- show him the way of salvation; 4-lead him to receive the gift of salvation;  5-give him assurance of salvation from the Word of God; and 6- lead him to confess  Christ. This is to be combined with P.A.U.L- a Personal Application for the Unsaved from  your Life.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH:

BEFORE AUTHORITIES

Our construction supervisor handed me a letter delivered to BLC (Barner Learning Center) from our congressman. The Davao government was hosting a hearing at City Hall for school presidents. They wanted to charge more fees to schools. 100 presidents were present,, and I approached the microphone to ask why we pay tax when we are non-profit, and operate with international funds. The representative from the Dept. Of Revenue explained that our non-profit status must be supplemented with a tax- exempt status. Although we are already tax exempt in the USA, we have not applied for that in the Philippine financial system. A week later, Elvie and I attended a seminar for Administrators of Christian Schools. There, the announcement was made that a government representative was present, who could give applications for tax exemption! PTL! God provides!
