An
Answer
to
Prayer
"The least of you will become a thousand..."-Isaiah 60:22 God is doing awesome things in Davao City, Philippines! The church we started five years ago with less than
a dozen people is now averaging over 120 every Sunday. There are so many
new visitors that we felt like sardines, squashed into the garage we
were using as a house church. With
the additional construction on the school campus, we
decided to move the church to the dirt-floored school gym, which has
adequate space for 500 or more, plus needed classrooms for Sunday
School. Yet even this is only temporary. We
have signed a 5-year contract
between the church and school (both run by me) which will allow
the church to use the school. These are the requirements: 1- all
classrooms and ground floor space are available on Sundays and
Wednesdays. 2- All
utilities, equipment and space is used free of charge. 3- The
church must open a bank account exclusively for the purchase of a future
building and lot, and set-aside in it $50 a month for this fund.
4- The
school will provide a storage room for all church supplies, which can
only be used by the school when approved by the church board. |

HYPOTENUSE?
"How
can you determine the hypotenuse of a right triangle? I asked many of
the teachers in our school this question, but since geometry is not
taught in kinderschool, none knew the answer. Finally, the Nursery 2
teacher, a math major, gave the answer. You
see, with our church moving to the school, the school was preparing by
building a roof over the playground as a gymnasium. This new gym would
be converted to a sanctuary on Sundays and Wednesdays. But how would we
determine how much roofing material to use on this new slanted roof? Geometry. |

GOD
TOUCHED A HEART
"Pastor Paul, I really want to sponsor little Rose, whose twin
sister was murdered. I also was a twin when I was born, yet my sister
died too. And now, I am also the grandmother of twin girls. They are the
apples of my eye.
"It is so terrible for Rose to have lost her sister. Please enroll
her in the school immediately. I prayed about it from the time I got
your email till I answered you back and I had such a burden for her and
I know that God wants me to sponsor her and will provide the finances
I'll need to do so. "I am very happy to do it. It is a blessing that I can do something for the Lord as well as the children. So please if anybody else wants to sponsor her tell them to sponsor someone else if they will. It is really great that you are doing the Lord's work and I sure hope and pray that the new property and new building you need will come soon. |
